"Nhien Everest" To Break Barriers And Celebrate Living At the FWD North Pole Marathon 2019

FWD Vietnam Life Insurance Company Ltd. (“FWD”) is pleased to announce local runner Phan Thanh Nhien ("Nhien Everest") will take part in the FWD North Pole Marathon, which will be held on 09 April 2019. He will represent Vietnam to conquer the 42km route at the 'World's Coolest Marathon' and make history as a new breed of Arctic adventurer. All while raising funds for local charities in Vietnam.

Phan Thanh Nhien became the country's youngest person to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 2008. Nhien will test his limits and endurance once again as Vietnam’s chosen athlete for the FWD North Pole Marathon 2019. Nhien said: "I always dreamt of conquering such a unique challenge. The FWD North Pole Marathon proves human ability is unlimited. This is a golden chance for me to break barriers and also support the community".

FWD and Nhien will also support local charities through its fundraising efforts, which makes prosthetic limbs accessible to the disabled in Vietnam, helping them step up confidently and live life to the fullest.

The FWD North Pole Marathon is annually held in the northernmost part of the earth and is the world's coolest marathon, offering extreme challenges and the experience of a lifetime for participants. It also mirrors the FWD's strong commitment to celebrate living. At the "World's Coolest Marathon", selected runners worldwide will brave the extreme cold and vie for victory.
