Introduction / Job summary

The Assistant Manager, New Business and Underwriting (Underwriter) will be responsible for:
  • Deliver expertise underwriting through NBU process in term of effectively and customer-centricity;
  • Develop and coach the underwriting resource for the company, following the standard of underwriting from Group and re-insurers.
  • Incorporate with Sales Force to educate, support for sales process along with relevant stakeholders.

The Job

  •       To verify the completeness and validity of application for insurance documents.  
  •       To classify life and health risks, initiate risks assessment, and make underwriting decision on the risks in compliance with the company underwriting guidelines and procedures.
  •       To perform NBU transactions in systems (CCR, LAS, NBO), creating SLQ/LCA/underwriting decision letters, updating underwriting decisions).
  •       To prepare and sign on SLQ/LCA/underwriting decision letters to Life Planner and customers; to follow-up the delivery/feedback and to process the responses/requests accordingly.
  •       To handle enquiries/complaints from Life Planner and customers on application for insurance and underwriting decision matters.
  •       To guide UW panel doctors on underwriting medical examination.
  •       To conduct training to agency force on NBU guidelines and procedures.
  •       To execute NBU User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify system performance. 
  •       To participate in NBU reporting and NBU auditing.
  •       To carry out other tasks and projects as and when assigned by line manager

The Person

  •        BA graduated;
  •        Medicine or insurance is preferable;
  •        3 year experience in insurance or medicine fields
  •        Experience in life insurance underwriting with similar role is preferable
  •        Good command of English and Vietnamese
  •        Knowledgeable in computer software and system usage
  •        Effective interpersonal skills and good teamwork spirit
  •        Well organized and good time management
  •       Pro-active, innovative, integrity, meticulous and diligent
  •        Able to deliver works under tight deadlines and heavy pressures
